Kidde Hardwired Smoke Alarm with Battery Backup
The Kidde Smoke Detector, Model i12060A, is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source. In the event of a power failure, the fire alarm comes equipped with a 9V battery backup. Using ionization sensing technology, the wired smoke alarm detects invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home.
Designed for easy installation, this Kidde smoke detector includes a pre-stripped wiring harness with an easy-off cap. The front battery door makes it simple to replace the smoke alarm's battery backup without the need to remove the alarm from the mounting bracket. Red LEDs indicate four modes of operation: Standby Mode (flashing every 40 seconds to indicate the smoke alarm is operating properly), Alarm Mode (alarm senses products of combustion), Alarm Memory (to indicate the alarm has been activated), and Hush mode (silencing the alarm for approximately 7 minutes). A green LED indicates AC power.
The Kidde Hardwired Smoke Detector model i12060A is also available in a two-pack, four-pack, and six-piece bulk pack for contractors and property owners who need an alarm for every room. It is UL Certified with a 10-year limited warranty and meets the requirements of UL217, NFPA72, The State of California Fire Marshal, NFPA 101, FHA, and HUD.
The smoke detector's ionization sensing technology allows it to detect invisible fire particles, and its 85-decibel alarm alerts occupants of a fire. The device protects during a power failure, as it operates on a 120V power source with a 9V battery in the front-load battery door. It provides whole-home family protection, allowing for easy installation of one fire detector on each level of the home and in the bedroom. The Test-Hush Feature allows users to silence the smoke detector for approximately 7 minutes.
