Shop / first alert smoke and carbon monoxide detector combination alarms
The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, model 900-CUDR, is an alarm combo that detects smoke, fire, and carbon monoxide gas using a single alarm. Powered by two AA batteries (included) for protection during a power failure, the Kidde Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm is equipped with self-testing components that are always checking the unit to ensure the device is operating as expected. The detector uses photoelectric sensing technology to detect visible fire particles associated with smoldering fires, while an electrochemical sensor detects carbon monoxide.
In the event of a smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide event, the Kidde fire alarm warns with an 85-decibel alarm sound and flashing red LEDs. Three LED warning lights provide status of the alarm: a green light indicates normal operation, an amber light alerts to faulty operation or connection, and a red light alerts to smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide. When the smoke alarm reaches the end of its life span, the detector will announce, "Replace Alarm!". The Smart-Hush button allows users to silence the unit for approximately 8 minutes, which is helpful when the smoke detector carbon monoxide detector combo sounds from routine cooking or shower steam.
The Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector is UL Certified with a 10-year limited manufacturer's warranty and meets the requirements of UL 2034, UL217, NFPA72 (chapter 11 2002 edition), the State of California Fire Marshal, NFPA101 (One and two family dwellings), and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It is designed to be installed on every level of the home and near bedrooms to help keep families safe.
The device's 24/7 self-testing components are always checking the unit to ensure it's operating as expected, though this is not a substitute for a manual push test. The easy-to-install mounting bracket allows for quick installation in four orientations. The photoelectric sensor detects visible fire particles associated with slow, smoldering fires, while the electrochemical sensor detects carbon monoxide. The 85-decibel alarm and LED warning indicators alert users to various statuses: green for normal operation, amber for operating errors, and red for smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide events.
Powered by batteries, the Kidde Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector provides reliable detection even during power outages. The device comes with two AA batteries included and is UL Listed with a 10-year limited warranty, which begins when the alarm is powered on. If the installation date is unknown, the alarm should be replaced after 10 years of use.
