It is important to note that this carbon monoxide alarm is designed specifically to detect carbon monoxide gas and is not suitable for smoke detection or any other gas detection. Before installation, the batteries must be removed, stripped of their plastic jackets, and then reinserted.

The detector is simple to use, with a single test/reset button. When a dangerous level of carbon monoxide is detected, the red LED will flash, and a loud 85-decibel alarm pattern will sound. The alarm standard is 30ppm, with the display showing the concentration; 50ppm, alert within 60 to 90 minutes; 100ppm, alert within 3 minutes; 300ppm, alert within 3 minutes. Note: When testing the detector, do not use gas to blow directly into the hole.
